Our client, international production company, with stable business in CIS region, currently looking for experienced self-motivated person on Commercial Director role in Russian subsidiary. The candidate should be a seasoned professional, with deep knowledge and experience in sales and marketing fields along with solid business development drive and competence. The challenge will be to increase and further develop client portfolio, sales volume and profitability, manage customer relations as well as to lead, manage and coach the sales organization.


Objectives of the position
  • Further develop and implement the country’s sales strategy ensuring the implementation and achievements of market strategies and sales objectives for the Russian market
  • Increase and further develop client portfolio, sales volume and profitability as well as manage customer relations
  • Secure implementation of operational steps and initiatives in the commercial field decided upon with the local management team and the responsible COO ensuring optimal utilization of available resources
  • Setting priorities and objectives while implementing the organization’s sales strategy Tasks
  • Manage and develop commercial activities in accordance with company objectives and strategies;
  • Achieve growth and hit sales targets by successfully managing the sales team
  • Design and implement a strategic commercial business plan that expands customer base and ensures a growing presence in the relevant markets in close cooperation with the General Manager
  • Design strategic and short term sales plans and various sales campaigns
  • Establish personal contacts with key customers and authorities
  • Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and make realistic forecasts to the management team
  • Objective setting, coaching, performance monitoring and recruiting (if necessary) of sales representatives
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Foster intercompany sales co-operation with other companies;


Candidate’s profile
  • Ideally local Russian with solid on-the-ground experience and first-hand knowledge of the local environment and specifics Languages:
  • Russian & English mandatory, very good command in both, speaking & writing Education:
  • University level with business administration background or a related field Professional experience:
  • Minimum 7-10 years of professional experience in the comparable /adjacent industry in Russia with strong individual focus on commercial functions (sales, business development);
  • Successful previous experience and track record as Commercial Director, Sales representative, Marketing or Sales Manager with managerial responsibility, consistently meeting or exceeding targets
  • Has substantial experience in relevant Russian markets and a profound understanding for the dynamics in an environment similar to Russia
  • Had overall responsibility for a Sales organization and/or Sales team of comparable size/complexity
  • Industry experience ideally in the construction industry (in particular in piping systems) or alternatively in other industries with strongly developed commercial functions (i.e. consumer goods industry)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all level of a similar organization
  • Solid team management experience Professional competencies: • Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close • Entrepreneurial mind set with strong hands-on approach and initiative with a strong sense of accountability and tenacity and strategic competence • Strong business sense and industry expertise • Profit and cash flow driven with a strong instinct for new business opportunities • Customer driven thinking/ execution, strong customer, sales and result orientation • Managerial and organisational skills, structured and well organized • Good presentation and analytical skills • Excellent communicator in and out of the company, good at negotiating with local and countrywide authorities too • Sound knowledge of IT user applications, sound understanding of MS office • Experience in CRM beneficial • Experience and capacity of understanding international organizations, business environment, products and strategies • Although focusing primarily on managing and further developing commercial business and growing overall market shares and revenues, the ideal candidate will also have good understanding in the area of Finance
